Andrea Bortolotti, Marine Declève and Anna Ternon will participate in the U&U – 9th PhD Seminar in Urbanism and Urbanization that will be held at the University of Ghent at the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning from 7th to 9th February 2018 where they will present three contributions:

  • Making space for waste: learning from the Abattoirs of Anderlecht, Brussels. (Andrea Bortolotti)
  • Brussel. (De)construction of a productive imaginary. (Marine Declève)
  • Anna Ternon will present the progress of her investigation about the role of collective spaces within housing cooperatives starting from the case study of the garden city ‘Le Logis’.

These contributions will be an opportunity to discuss two projects funded by ERDF 2014-2020: Andrea Bortolotti will present the progress of his investigation on the ecology of actors and spaces which underpin solid waste management in the site of the Abattoirs and Market of Anderlecht. Marine Declève will give an insight on her investigation around the working practices starting from the case study of CoopCITY.
